Originality in every initiative
Rigour in the performance of each activity
Trust: to stimulate trust between employees and clients
Joy: to promote moments of relaxation and happiness
Aware of the fact that both hotel and restaurant activities are heavy consumers of many resources as well as waste generators, Noah Beach House and Noah Surf House have environmental and sustainability policies aiming at reducing the ecological footprint, through a process of environmental and social performance’s improvement.
And so, we have already implemented a set of measures aiming at greater energy efficiency and a water/waste management policy to gradually reduce the amount of waste produced.

The decoration is made, mostly from recycled or upcycled items, related with fishing, beach, waves and ocean.
Both – construction and decoration – give character to our Surf House, making it unique and innovative. This HOME is an ecological space, that follows the principles of sustainable tourism, energetic efficiency, green and renewable energies and exploitation of natural resources.
The Portuguese west region is synonymous of beaches of rare NATURAL BEAUTY... In Santa Cruz there are eleven beaches with an extensive sand areas and rocky cliffs. Formed by clay sediments and covered by a green blanket of vegetation, the cliffs give you a sense of protection and at the same time of PEACE.
Searched by surfers, the Portuguese West Coast offers exclusive surfing conditions. That is also why it was chosen to be one of the World Surf League’s competition stages.
There are many options along the existing 20 kilometres of coastline, where it is possible to spend a RELAXING day at the beach or even to make a PIKNIK and taste local products.
Along the coast are innumerable viewpoints that give you a sense of power as well as smallness due to the grandiosity and overwhelming NATURE. Visit the Alto da Vela’s viewpoint, the viewpoint de Santa Helena, the viewpoint da Formosa and, on the way, make a quick stop at the Chapel of St. Helena, facing the sea. Inside you will find the image of St. Helena, which was found by a fisherman on Amoeira Beach in the 16th century. St. Helena is the saint patron of Santa Cruz.
PENEDO DO GUINCHO
It’s one of the most iconic sites in Santa Cruz. Formed by an imposing rock structure, with 30 meters of height and 100m diameter, with a slot crossed by the sea on its base. When the tide is at lowest it’s possible to cross from one side to the other, keeping the feet dry. During summer season, it’s one of the most crowded areas, rather dare to visit during the winter, and enjoy the mystical light at the end of the day as the sun can sets behind.
AZENHA DE SANTA CRUZ
Azenha de Santa Cruz is very close to Penedo do Guincho, right in the center of Santa Cruz. It has a Tourist Office, exhibitions and a reading room with newspapers and magazines.
PASSEIO DOS POETAS
Beauty, TRANQUILITY and magic. Santa Cruz has always been a source of inspiration for notable poets and writers who lived here. One of them was Antero de Quental who, in 1870, sought inspiration in the refuge of Santa Cruz. In honor of the poet and philosopher a statue was built in 2009, next to the chapel. Also the Japanese poet Kazuo Dan chose Santa Cruz to live between 1971 and 1972. The street where he lived has his name, and a monument was also built in his honor where we can read one of his poems, "Poente", written in Santa Cruz. Also João de Barros has a monument. The poet, pedagogue and publicist was a sea lover and spent several summer seasons in Santa Cruz. In this statue it is possible to read a dedication from Ferreira de Castro (also a writer) to João de Barros, where he exposes his passion for the Atlantic Ocean, his strong connection to Brazil.
